PROJECT OVERVIEW
This project challenged me to build and design a small-publication for a 2-day, short-film festival. The cover of the publication needed to feature the title of the film festival and the spread needed to include all of the short films and descriptions, as well as include two articles about films.
PROCESS
This beginning of the design process started with picking a theme for the publication. While exploring different short films, I found a pattern of short films that expressed the complicated experiences on the Asian American experience. I found 4 short films that all explored different aspects of the POC experience that had a wide range in genre and tone. Coming from a mixed household, I felt that this project would hold both a personal and experimental significance.
The project needed to have multiple required components. For the publication cover, it needed to have the short film festival title, the short films chosen, and the dates of the festival.
